Below is a list of the most frequently asked questions regarding skip bin hire:
How long can I hire a skip bin for?
We hire out skip bins for up to 7 days which is the general industry standard. If you prefer to have the bin on site for less than 7 days you can select a shorter time period but this does not decrease the price.
Can i put asbestos in any of the skip bins?
You must hire one of our “asbestos waste” skip bins to dispose of asbestos waste. It is illegal to put asbestos material in a non asbestos skip bin.
Can i fill the bin with soil?
Soil becomes extremely heavy in a skip bin and this affects the ability of the truck to be able to lift the bin to take it away. The maximum size skip bin that can be used to fill with soil is 3m3.
I have a mixture of different waste types….which bin should i select?
If you have a mixture of waste, for instance green waste, renovation waste, small amounts of brick or rubble you should hire a General Waste Skip Bin. Be aware that there are weight restrictions so if you have alot of concrete or heavy material you may require a Heavy Waste Skip Bin. You cannot combine asbestos waste into these other bins, it is illegal and may result in additional fees being charged at the waste facility which is then charged back to the customer. Asbestos can only go in an asbestos waste bin.
Do I need to be home for you to deliver or pick-up the skip bin?
As long as we can place the bin in an appropriate place and there are no obstacles such as closed gates preventing access then you don’t need to be at home for delivery or pick-up. If we have not received any instruction on where to place the bin we may place it in the driveway. When booking the bin there is an additional comments field where you can give instruction on where you’d like the bin placed.
